Where I come from, Labor Day is pretty much the last day of summer. K-12 students go back to school the day after Labor Day. College students, for the most part, have got their classes ironed out and are getting settled into the semester. People start making plans to go to the pumpkin patch and the apple orchards and the cider mills. The leaves turn yellow, red, and orange, and start crunching under your feet when you walk down a sidewalk or cut across somebody’s yard. You make sure you have a good pair of mittens, a hat, a scarf, a warm coat for winter, good warm shoes, boots if necessary.
But first, summer must end. I figured I’d send it out–at least from my end of things–with some of the songs I’ve listened to the most this summer.
